When we are on the weight loss journey, it is common to look for miraculous ways, restrictive diets and so many other things that promise to speed up the process.
Some may even work at first, but will they ensure you don’t regain the lost weight? It is much more than just suggesting a balanced diet, it must be based on the profile of the person, always considering that each individual is unique.

In traditional nutrition, diets and menus are elaborated more generally, based on collective health. Traditional nutrition is still the most used by people who want to lose weight, precisely because of its more restrictive character. However, it is worth mentioning that in most cases the weight lost returns when the diet ends. This may be as consequence of the need to ingest those previously cut/restricted foods

Functional nutrition is a balanced approach to food with an emphasis on incorporating a variety of quality macronutrients and micronutrients. A healthy balance of carbohydrates, fats and proteins ensures that we get all the necessary vitamins and minerals that our body needs for optimal physical and mental function.
These nutrients are essential to ensure that our body can adapt to a new and healthier type of food. In addition, it helps to decrease inflammation and improve metabolic efficiency. Thus, functional nutrition focuses on an individualized approach to healthy eating in order to create lifelong health benefits.
This approach focuses on consuming quality foods, encouraging regular consumption of nutrient-rich foods —without restriction of macronutrients. In contrast, it avoids those who do not provide any substantial nutritional benefit.

Small but consistent changes in daily eating habits facilitate the adoption of a healthier and more sustainable food pattern in the long run, consequently the excess weight is lost and naturally just stay off. Unlike, the weight lost in the fad diet which is quickly regained once the diet period ends.
